North Austin & Georgetown Glamour Senior Photoshoot

Three words: Glamour. Senior. Portraits.

Nothing commemorates the biggest milestone in a senior's life up to this point like an all-out-luxury photoshoot. It's just not enough until you've had your makeup done, gotten your hair all zhooshed up, and had your very own glamour video made to post on facebook. Because your senior photos should be anything but awkward.

Outdoor Summer Wedding at Chapel Dulcinea

Finally blogging this summer wedding. For those of you who read this blog on the reg, you'll recognize this gorgeous venue, Chapel Dulcinea, from Part I and Part II of my personal blogging this year.

I love how beautiful Rebekah is inside the bride's room, and her and Colt's gorgeous sunset ceremony. They had an intimate reception with family and close friends and all of the dancing you can imagine on the back deck of a relative's home, and man, it just makes you fall in love with love all over again.

Mother & Child - Georgetown Family and Newborn Portrait

I can't describe how sweet this mother-son and family session was. Her little one was just 4.5 months old and OH MY HEART. So precious.

It's so so so important to get beautiful photos done of little (or big!) ones... they grow up so fast... so hold them on your lap while you work, don't rush to change your shirt when they cover you in spit up, and get a portrait done of them at least once a year... because I already miss last week when my little one was just a little littl-er.

Luxe Organic Wedding in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Luxe Organic Wedding in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Five years ago I walked into the Apple store in Penn Square Mall in Oklahoma City in search of a pair of high quality earbuds so I could damage my ear drums in style.  Some friendly Apple guy offered to help me find a pair, and after he did he helped me check-out and casually asked what I did.

"Well, I'm a photographer," I responded.

"Cool!" He said, "I am too!"

Inwardly, I rolled my eyes "Sure you are..."

This is Getting Personal (Part 2 of 2)

Up until about 3 weeks before the wedding I had planned on a true elopement, just Kurt and the officiant and I. My mom talked me into a reception for us and our immediate families, and so together we picked out Siena Ristorante Toscana. But a few weeks before, Kurt and I decided to include our family in the ceremony, too, and I am forever glad we did.

So since 2013 I haven't really created many personal blog posts. Mostly because this blog is my workspace, a professional extension of myself. I've tried to maintain a healthy personal-to-professional ratio, but something happened recently that kind of alters who I am and how I shoot.

I got married.

And I want to share a lot about our long distance dating, the past year, our quick engagement, our perfect elopement, and where we're at now.

So hang on. I promise this won't be one of those 18-part-read-all-about-my-life-because-you-don't-have-anything-better-to-do posts, but it does get a little cray.

What is Personal Branding (and why do I care)?

What is Personal Branding (and why do I care)?

The reality is that we live in a world where image is king - your image gets you that swipe on Tinder, the free drink at the bar, and even the interview or job.  Who we are on our social networks and the image we display at our offices or places of business are no longer optional elements of success in social or business environments.

Mother & Daughter Portraits

Mother & Daughter Portraits

“I will teach my daughter to color outside the lines, to make mistakes, to take risks, and not be afraid to fail. I will teach her that even when the world tries to knock her down the best revenge is getting up and forging ahead. I will teach her to be brave enough to be different, to stand up for what's right. To never quiet her voice to make someone else feel comfortable. Because no one remembers the person that fits in. It's the one who stands out that people won't be able to forget.”
