Jess | A Portrait
I saw her again for the first time in over a year, just a few weeks ago. She's one of those people you feel like you've known forever, and for a while we couldn't remember how we'd first met. Finally, one of us pinpointed a conference we'd both attended several years ago - but somehow in the last 5 or 6 years she seems to be more present in my life than in reality. Somehow the handfuls of times we've actually been able to snatch together have become a presence - a friendship that seems to not have a beginning; it just IS.She's one of those people who keeps going the next day and the next, in the pain; she has those human, raw moments of asking the bold and the timid "why?" to the only One who has the answer. She's one of those people that wrestles with the truth and takes head-on new concepts and works hard for the dreams she has for herself. She's a modern warrior.
